The Council of Governors(COG) has threatened to campaign for a lock down in counties experiencing a surge in the number of COVID-19 patients.
The Council’s chairman Wycliffe Oparanya however said county bosses were taking all necessary measures to curb the spread of the Coronavirus.
“County governments are on high alert to stem inter-county spread of COVID-19. If the situation gets dire, individual counties will have no choice but in consultation with president, seek to lock down the affected county to contain the spread and protect lives,” Oparanya said in a statement.
Nairobi is the leading county with 2,290 followed by Kiambu, Machakos, Kajiado,Mombasa with 264, 247, 177, 150 respectively since the ban on cessation lapsed on June 7.
