IMF Appoints Ceda Ogada As The New Secretary.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has appointed Ceda Ogada, a Kenyan as its new Secretary and director of the Secretary’s department.

Ceda is said to have worked for the IMF organization for 21 years and steadily ascended the ladder with the latest, him securing the new position of being the deputy general counsel at the Bretton Woods.

Before joining the IMF, Ogada worked at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development as a legal expert.

The IMF managing director Georgieva praised Ceda Ogada for his exceptional ability to unite people.

Ceda  has outstanding institutional knowledge, strategic and intellectual heft,and people leadership. His unparalleled ability to bring people together, combined with his profound appreciation of the Fund’s institutional history and legal principles, as well as a strong service orientation, will help the Fund to even more effectively serve our member countries in very challenging economic environment ,” Kristallina said in a statement.

Ogada is set to succeed Jianhai Lin who retired as from September 1, 2020. Congratulations to our Kenyan brother.
