On Friday night, January 1, the manager of Reeves Bar in Nyamira County was stabbed in the neck, left hand, and stomach over an unpaid bill.
According to a police statement by Citizen Digital, there was a dispute over payment after an unknown reveler was served with drinks at the bar.
“The reveller was running away in regard to the payment and the manager (Bavon Ogoti Lazarus) decided to follow him down the stairs but in return he became violent and assaulted him then ran away,” read the report.
Officers from Keroka Police Station visited the scene and reported that the manager had suffered serious injuries.
He was rushed to the Medistop healthcare facility and then went to the Christomarian Private Hospital in Kisii, where he was pronounced dead upon his arrival.
The body was moved to Kisii Level Six Hospital awaiting for post mortem.
