Bensoul of the Sol Generation, has come out to speak about his childhood when his father left them.
During an interview on Sol Generations YouTube channel, the talented instrumentalist explained despite his father being a musician in his youth, he tried his best to stop him from indulging in the art.
“I was born and raised in Embu. I grew up in a slum called Dallas. I’ve been raised by a single mum, babangu alitutoka,” said Bensoul before adding, “Mzee akaenda kwa sababu alikuwa anataka niwe Muislamu. Akasema mimi na my son ikiwa hatutakuwa waislamu tusiitanishwe na yeye.”
He then added his father was also a musician since he used to play with a local area band but never wanted him to do music as he was already into music at the age of 3.
“I picked up instruments and learned how to play out of interest by myself. After high school, I came to Nairobi where I met H_Art The Band and we became friends. I later joined Sauti Academy and everything after that, including being signed by Sol Generation, has been unfolding through God’s grace. I cannot say that I planned any of the success I have had to date,” he revealed.
He has recently been out here sharing more and more of his life experiences and finally unmasking his private life. Its still unfortunate as he has not come out to show us his life partner.
