Kenya power has been ordered by court to pay sh 150,000 to a Bomet man as special damages for his cow that was electrocuted.

It is said his dairy cow was electrocuted to death back in 2017. He is said to have appealed after the lower declined to award him general damages

A man identified as Joseph Korir could be getting more compensation after High Court Judge Asenath Ongeri channeled the matter back to the magistrate’s court for general damages.

Back in 2018, Joseph had appealed to High court after the magistrate’s court refused to issue him with general damages amounting to 900,000.

Korir, had argued that his dairy cow was 3 months pregnant at the time of the electrocution that led to its death.

“I therefore find that the trial court was duty-bound to asses general damages payable since KPLC had consented to take 80% liability for the negligence, ruled the court.
