On Saturday, November 28, Comedian and YouTube celebrity Timothy Kimani, popularly known as Njugush, received the Africa Digital Influencer of the Year award at the 2020 Africa Digital Awards.

Njugush took to social media to thank his friends and followers for their motivation.

“Africa Digital Influencer of the Year; a huge title thanks to your support. Thanks Africa digital awards for your recognition. Influence with a purpose,” stated Njugush.

The comedian surpassed four separate nominees across Africa. He managed to overthrow elite content creators such as Kwadwo Sheldoh from Ghana, Lasizwe from South Africa, Linda Ikeji from Nigeria, and Edith Yoh from Cote D’ivoire.

This award comes only weeks after he was named one of the 100 most prominent young Africans in 2020.

Known for his amusing social media stunts, Njugush is the primary target for businesses looking for endorsement deals. This is due to the vast number of followers who are linked to and familiar with his content.
