Court Suspends The Burial Of The Late Matungu MP Justus Murunga

A court has suspended the burial of the late Matungu MP Justus Murunga after a woman filed a lawsuit to stop the burial.

On Thursday, 19 November, the court granted Agnes Wangui Wambiri’s wish and claimed that it would decide the fate of the funeral ceremony once the law suit had been determined.

Milimani Chief Magistrate Agnes Makau also prohibited Lee Funeral Home from releasing the body of the late MP.

Makau also instructed Wambiri to address her respondents, Murunga’s widows, Christabel Murunga and Grace Murunga, with a note stating that the case would be appealed on Thursday, 26 November.

Justus Murunga died on Saturday night, 14 November, at St Mary’s Hospital in Mumias, Kakamega County.

Through her Lawyer Danstan Omari, Agnes Wambiri claimed that she had been in a relationship with the late Late Mp for seven years and they had been blessed with two children.
