Crystal Asige dismissed from sol generation

Sauti Sol have opened up on breaking up with Crystal Asige, the only female artist to have been featured in Sol Generation. Asige, who is a visually impaired artist, captivated many when she featured in the jam ‘Extravaganza’.

Over the past few months we have heard of all the Sol Generation artists letting out their music but not from Crystal.

This raised the question as to where she was. And yes, finally the truth is out.

Bien Aimè had to address the elephant in the room in a n interview he was at. When he was asked where Crystal was and why she had been missing in action he said they were no longer working together.

He was quoted saying, “We are not working with Crystal anymore and this came with a lot of complications. It was an amicable break and we are glad we gave her a platform.” Bien revealed.

Crystal is  really talented, almost blind or not but one of the things we really captured from the Sol Generation featuring Sauti Sol music was definitely the girl with ‘glowing’ eyes.

When asked about her leaving Sol Generation she had her say. “I ALSO WANT TO SHOW YOUNG PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES, ESPECIALLY GIRLS AND BOYS, THAT ALL ONE NEEDS IS HARD WORK.” she said.

She had been diagnosed with Glaucoma when she was young and after finishing high school and then she went to UK where she studied film and came back and was fortunate enough to have met again with Saudi Sol to join Sol Generation before finally breaking out.

“EACH OF OUR STORIES IS DIFFERENT AND FOR NOW THAT I CAN’T COMPLETELY SEE, I AM VERY FOCUSED ON WHAT I AM DOING,” SHE SAID. “WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH OTHER FEMALE ARTISTES, I DON’T CARE BECAUSE I KNOW I AM IN MY OWN LANE.” Crystal had said.

She has known Sauti Sol for quite a while. When she was asked what she said was this, “I didn’t know why he was looking for songwriters, I had no clue about Sol Generation. He was given my name by a mutual connection.

So he was told a lot about me but only recognized me when we met, ‘That little girl from Mombasa who used to disturb them back in the day.’ So there’s this one session that we were writing and jamming in the studio when I met another writer and that’s Nviiri the storyteller.

Later, I met Kaskazini at an event in Mombasa and met Ben Sol last. After that, Sauti Sol officially told us about Sol Generation ,”

With her being partially blind, the songwriter and performer says that hearing people speak of how good her eyes looked in the song Extravaganza means a lot to her as that was almost her main reason for committing suicide once.

We just hope we get to hear more from this girl with Glowing eyes.
