Curfew Extended for 60 Days, All Political Gatherings Banned For 30 Days

President Uhuru Kenyatta while addressing the nation today March 12 has extended the nation wide curfew dusk to dawn for further 60 days.

The head of state in his speech ordered all bars to be closed by 9pm. He also directed all funeral to held within 72 hrs while weddings were restricted for only family members and close relatives not exceeding 100 persons.

He further banned all forms of political and social gatherings for 30 days as the third wave of coronavirus hits the country.

The head of state directed the national government, police and county enforcement officers to enforce the order irrespective of status of the political organizers.

“Today I direct that all forms of political gatherings be and are hereby prohibited for a period of 30 days effective midnight on this March 12, 2021,” he said. 

All other public social measures of are yo be observed as earlier with a third of worshippers only being allowed to go to church.
