Samuel Nduati Kamau was allegedly caught selling 27 rolls of bhang along Haile Selassie Avenue but has denied the charges at Makadara law courts and insists it was for his own consumption.
The suspect confessed he smokes weed and the one he was caught with was for his own use and not for trafficking.
He was facing an additional charge of being in possession of the narcotic drug in contravention of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control Act of 1994 and he admitted before principal magistrate Jackie Kibosia that he had the 27 rolls that he had acquired to smoke.
He pleaded for leniency insisting he does not sell narcotic drugs but only smokes weed. He was released on a cash bail of Sh50,000 pending hearing of the case from May 19 2021.
