The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party which is associated with Deputy President Ruto has pulled out of Juja parliamentary seat by-election.

The Party’s Secretary-General Veronica Maina said they will not be fielding a candidate in the mini poll scheduled for May 18 2020, without giving reasons for the decision.

“We would have really wished to but we have consulted widely including aspirants who had expressed interest in our party ticket and we resolved that we should not get involved but rather wait until 2022,” she said.

Many people UDA’s decision deduced the second in command was averting a direct confrontation with Jubille Party in his boss’,backyard.

However, the move may be tactical as the Tangatanga brigade may throw its weight behind Jubilee rival candidate George Koimburi, fronted by a party linked to MP Moses Kuria. Koimburi is running on the Peoples Empowerment Party (PEP) that is associated with the Gatundu South lawmaker.

The seat became vacant following the death of then MP Francis Munyua Waititu well known as Wakapee
