Ekuru Aukot has been expelled as the party leader of the Thirdway Alliance Party over lack of transparency and financial impropriety.
This comes barely a month after the politician was suspended from the party. It is reported his oust is because he failed to honour summons to appear before disciplinary committee.
According to the party secretary general Okango Fredrick, the resolution to expel the leader was reached without animosity.
“The disciplinary committee convened on 4th September and all witnesses and complaints appeared and testified, however, Aukot did not appear nor did he send an apology,” read a statement.
“NEC has today received disciplinary committee report which it adopted unanimously and recommended that Aukot having no need to defend himself be dismissed from the party membership and position as party leader,” said Okango in a statement.
Last week the politician was barred from accessing the party offices pending the hearing and determination of the application and suit.
