The former Amani National Congress Party’s candidate in the Kibra by-election, Eliud Owalo, has ditched the party days after Barack Muluka resigned as the party secretary general.
In a letter issued to the Registrar of political parties, Owalo indicated his decision to exit was to give Musalia Mudavadi who is the Party leader ample space.
In the letter, he stated the move will allow the party to, “Strategically position itself effectively in the operational environment and craft a suitable road map moving forward without feeling suffocated by my views and suggestion.”
“I also want to create a reasonable leg-room between myself and Mudavadi to safeguard and sustain our personal friendship, respect and positive professional engagement that has been in existence over a span of 25 years,” he added.
