[dropcap]A[/dropcap] woman was yesterday charged with torching her house. Caroline Mwangi, 27, allegedly set fire to the house of Peter Kimani, her husband, on the April 17th at Tassia estate in Embakasi. The court heard that on that day, around 9.30pm, Mwangi allegedly argued with Kimani. She accused her husband of having an affair with other women and neglecting her.

Caroline allegedly insulted her husband who slapped here viciously.  She then left the house with her child but came back in the morning before the husband left for work. She took her child out of the house after Kimani had left, locked herself inside and set the house on fire.

Her husband was called by the neighbours and he called the police who rescued Mwangi and arrested her. She denied the charges and was released on a sh30,000 bail. The hearing is set for July 8.
