Elsewhere a controversial businessman and his aides were celebrating a yet to be made ruling over a multimillion shilling property along Mombasa Road, after they were assured that the ruling will be in their favour by top judicial judge. Is discontent brewing at a public university’s school of business over promotions of associate professors? It is alleged that one of those promoted recently to the coveted position did not meet the minimum threshold. The man reportedly graduated recently with a PhD, meaning he has not supervised any PhD candidate. His promotion is contrary to the requirement of a minimum of eight years’ teaching experience and supervision of two PhD and three Master’s students. An associate professor is also required to have at least five publications in referred journals or three publications and  two chapters in scholarly books since the last promotion.
