The Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i in the recent press briefing has strongly condemned wrangles that broke out at the Nairobi County Assembly yesterday and the past few days.
Speaking at the launch of a book by the former Inspector General of Police, Joseph Boinnet, the CS has ordered all county staff to hand in their firearms.
He said at least 14 guns had been confiscated and there was no need to deploy police officers at the county assembly.
“The government cannot continue using large contigency of police officers to man the county assembly when other Nairobi residents need the services too. I have ordered police to disarm all county assembly. Enough is Enough, we cannot continue this way. Do you want us to station a contigent of GSU officers outside the county assembly? We cannot do that,” he said
This came after Mlango Kubwa MCA was clobbered yesterday by at least four officers who were captured on camera.
