Former Tetu Member of Parliament, Ndungu Gethenji, was charged in court on Wednesday 11 November for triggering disorder at the Kihingo multi-billion estate in Kitisuru, Nairobi County.

Gethenji, alongside four others, was charged with breaching the central security door of the estate and chasing the security guards away on October 29 , 2019.

The estate, also referred to as the Waridi Gardens, is one of the most glamorous locations in Nairobi and has elite tenants such as Kirinyaga Governor, Anne Waiguru and Convergence Director of the Radio Africa Company, William Pike.

The former MP and his co-defendants denied the allegations raised against them, contributing to the number of cases involving the ownership of the multibillion land.

Magistrate Ochoi freed the suspects on bond and the case was postponed until 25 November.

Gethenji and his brother Gitahi Gethenji are engaged in a widely publicized conflict that has seen some tenants taking sides in the fight to manage the common land and monthly service charges levied by homeowners.
