Government-Owned Masinga Dam Ravaged By Fire

A fire outbreak tore down sections of Masinga Dam Resort on September 5, 2020 in Machakos county.

It is claimed valuables of unknown value were destroyed at the refreshment joint which is managed by Tana and Athi River Development Authority (TARDA); a state corporation.

In a statement issued, the organisation said the probe into the cause of the fire has been launched. However, they claimed fire might have been caused by electrical surge.

“…The fire is suspected to have started from an electrical surge in the kitchen. Investigations are ongoing,” said TARDA.

It is reported also, no one was hurt in the incident as emergency agencies came to their aid on time.
