The Ethics and Anti- Corruption Commission CEO Twalik Mbarak has had it rough today after a heated exchange between him and the senators.

The senators wanted Mbaraka to give them details about the ongoing investigations on procurement of the portable clinics that was to cost Sh1 billion.

The senators specifically wanted details of the list of 10 companies and directors that the Ministry of Health had invited for a restricted tendering of the project.

Mbarak ended up denying senators the details arguing that it will lead to the investigations being in jeopardy.

“The discussion we are having will interfere with the outcome of the investigations. I am not defending anybody, but I have limitations. We cannot go to the nitty-gritty of the investigations,” he told members.
After much convincing from the Senators, EACC boss came out with the whole story stating that the procurement was traced back to a company called Estama Investments which was paid Shs800 million awarded by the Ministry of Health.

Estama Investment was one among the 10 firms and was the one that got the tender to procure the mobile clinics and equipments as well.
