The red devils faced Brighton and Hove Albion on Wednesday night 30th September 2020 in their quest for clinching the EFL cup.
Scott McTominay scored United’s first goal a minute before halftime with an assist from Juan Mata which resulted from a free kick.
Juan Manuel Mata on the 73rd minute found some space for a shot from the edge of the box, his attempt went low inside the right post, a fantastic finish making it 2-0 for the devils.
Seven minutes later, Paul Labile Pogba took a wonderful free kick curling the ball into the top right corner with an absolute phenomenal strike sealing the victory of United.
The match’s stats however suggest that both teams attacked fairly as Brighton led in the ball possession recording 51% against 49% with 12 goal attempts, 2 on target, 8 off the target and 2 blocked shots against United’s 10, 6, 3 and 1 respectively.
