Hundreds of job seekers turned up for a Television interview in Nairobi on Saturday 14 November.
EBRU TV revealed that it was searching for a TV host in an advertisement that also included the time and place of the interview, as well as other information for the applicants.
“Are you a young opinionated and eloquent youth between the age of 23 and 28 years? Ebru TV is looking for you for physical auditions.
“Auditions will commence as from 9 a.m for the first 30 people to arrive,” read the EBRU TV notice.
Responding to the advert, over a hundred young people turned up for the interview with some of them arriving as early as 6 a.m.
The job seekers are seen in a video lined up waiting for their chance to be interviewed.
The unemployment rate has increased with the Covid-19 pandemic. A study by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) published in September 2020 showed that Kenya’s unemployment rate has doubled from 5.2% to 10.4% over the last three months.
