South African and Africa’s music legendary Yvonne Chaka Chaka has brushed off claims that she was deported from Uganda towards the end of the year 2018. Posting her flight ticket on twitter, Yvonne paused.

“If I was deported would they buy me a business class ticket? Nooooo they just put [you] on the plane. Now you know,”

She earlier assured her fans that she’ll get back to Uganda and perform as Uganda was in Africa and Africa is her motherland. She affirmed to her supporters that she “had not been arrested or deported” as reported by several East and Southern African media outlets.

“After reading all this I don’t know if I should just laugh or cry. All I am asking for is [please] stop hate speech and fake news. What is this world coming to?” said Yvonne Chaka Chaka.

Speculations suggests Yvonne has been an open supporter of Bobi Wine. A serious political antagonist to the current regime of President Kaguta Mseveni. Yvonne has previous compared Bobi wine to Nelson Mandela, calling him the Mandela of Uganda.

Since many fans were questioning her well being, Yvonne took to instagram and made a video assuring her fans, country and family that she was okay.

“I took a decision not to appear this evening at Enkuka, because there were just too many things that i could not understand or explain. If somebody had explained to me, i really would have understood. But not deported, not arrested not captured, everything is fine everything is in order.

I know my country is worried, my people are worried my husband is worried, everybody is worried. But i am fine.” She said in a short video posted on her instagram page and can also be found below.

In a rejoinder message, the Ugandan police said the musician was turned away because she lacked proper working visa that would allow her to perform at the concert.

“We have hoping that in the future, Chaka Chaka will visit us when she applies for the right visa,” said a senior Ugandan police officer in a video posted on Twitter.

Yvonne wherever you are, we hope that you are truly fine Mama Africa.
