Instagram is set to go hard against its competitor TikTok on video edits after it introduced the new feature called ‘Instagram Reels’. The feature allows the user to record new short clips and let them share it to the whole world.
“Reels in Explore offers anyone the chance to become a creator on Instagram and reach new audiences on a global stage.” Read the reels description in their blog page.
The feature allows user to create clips that last for 15 seconds tops, which can be edited easily from the wide range of AR effects. It also allows the user to use music that they already have or they can create their own audio.
Other feature in the Instagram Reels include: Align, which allows the user to align objects in your videos, from one video to the next so that its flawless. It also allows the user to slow down the clip or the audio at any time the user wants to make a better quality and really creative video that they can share with the whole world.
Instagram is yet to release any statistics on the use of Reels so far. It has been barely two months and maybe they are still observing and tweaking the feature to attract more users. It is quite evident, however, that the company is deeply invested in it as it said during the launch, that they are “going big” with entertainment.
