Kenya Railways Suspends Four Nairobi Commuter Train Services

On Wednesday, December 23, the Kenya Railways Corporation announced the suspension of four Nairobi Commuter Train services.

Kenya Railways released a notice declaring the closure of four rail services on the Nairobi Commuter Train for 10 days.

The Company has announced that it has been expanding its operations throughout the festive season, with most of the citizens of Nairobi traveling upcountry and in various holiday destinations.

“We wish to notify our commuters that: The Nairobi Commuter Rail Services to Ruiru, Embakasi, Kikuyu andSyokimau will be suspended from December 24th, 2020 till 3rd January 2021,” read the statement.

The Nairobi to Nanyuki Rail Service will not be affected by the cutting down of operations during the festive season.

The Nairobi Commuter Rail to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) Express Service as well as the  Madaraka Express Passengers Service and the commuter link train to and from the SGR Nairobi Terminus will also operate as usual.
