The senate had a special final meeting to convene and vote for or against Governor Ferdinand Waititu Impeachment; after several deliberations these were the votes;

Nos – 11
Hence rendering Waititu impeached and officially out of office.
A special committee was set up, and the meeting for the governor’s proceedings that were slated in from 21.01.2020, whereby an approval by 50 per cent of the elected senators will hold up Waititu as governor failure to which he seizes to serve the people of Kiambu as governor and this happened at 9pm on the 29th day of January 2020.
The governor was required to appear to answer to the charges levelled against him, before the Senate as a whole which he has been doing, and the Senate found the claims to be substantiated. Mr Waititu appeared before senate yesterday for a decision that was to decide whether he is holds back office or kicked out. And to what was intended to be the end of the proceedings governor Waititu was casted out this rendered impeached!
The Kiambu County Assembly impeached Waititu on December 19. 63 ward representatives supported the impeachment motion anchored on abuse of office and violation of the Public Finance Management Act.
Mr Waititu’s political star, which had been steadily rising, began waning after he was charged in court. The governor, together with his wife Susan Wangari and eight others, are facing corruption cases after being accused of irregularly awarding themselves Sh580 million tenders.
This could easily be termed as an end of a political career.
