Less than four months after joining the video making application, Mr Kevin has come forth to state he is leaving.
This comes a time when the Chinese-owned platform is under pressure from the Trump administration.
In a note to employees, Kevin Mayer said a series of changes to TikTok structure had led to his resignation. He however did not address the timing of his departure.
The app owned by Byte Dance has been ordered by white house to sell its U.S operations by mid-September.
“In recent weeks, as the Political environment has sharply changed, I have done significant reflection on what the corporate structural changes will require and it means for the global role i signed up for.”
“Against this backdrop, and as we expect to reach resolutions very soon, it is with heavy heart that I wanted to let you all know that I have decided to leave the company,” read an email by Mayer.
