Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana has blamed senator Mutula Kilozo Junior for failing to take part in the voting exercise during Mike Sonko’s impeachment.

The Governor said he wished his County’s senator voted yes or no, stating that there comes a time in political life, where one must not sit on the fence, even in a brother’s case.

I wish my Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr voted Yes or No in the Sonko case. There are times in life, especially in political life, when we must not “sit on the barbed fence,” blow hot/cold, even in a brother’s case. In such a scenario, one must bite the bullet. To abstain can leave a stain,” Governor Kivutha Kibwana stated.

Sonko was charged with five counts that ranged from violation of the Constitution, gross misconduct, abuse of office to crimes committed under the national law.

27 Senators voted for or against each count making five rounds of voting. Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr and Senator Johnson Sakaja did not take part in the voting.
