Lari MP Arrested Over Sh 27 Million CDF Graft

Lari Member of Parliament John Mwangi, has today September 2 been arrested following DPP’s approval of his arrest and prosecution.

He is said to have embezzled Constituency Development Funds amounting to sh 27 million together with other employees in the department.

He has been taken to EACC offices. In a statement, Noordin Haji claimed the lawmaker should be apprehended alongside Funds Account manager Ayaan Mahadhi, Grace Macharia, Rumuli Limited, Paul Mucheru, Francis Gachoka, pambuzuko limited and Ndembeki limited.

“I am therefore satisfied that there is sufficient evidence to support charges against the following individuals,” DPP said.

They Mp and co-accused are to be charged with conflict of interest, abuse of office, conspiracy to commit an offense of companies, dealing with suspect property and acting without authorization.
