The NCPB scandal has seen two prominent people being put in custody, the Sirisia member of parliament,John Waluke and his business partner Grace Wakhungu. The two were found guilty hence both being fined over Kshs 700 million each. However they can appeal for a ruling within the next 14 days.
When the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives were probing the case, they unraveled a web of other beneficiaries of the fraudulent kshs 297 million. Among them was city lawyer Ahmednasir. According to documents circulating on social media, Ahmednasir had received money amounting to Kshs 35 million through his company Ahmednasir, Abdikadir & Company Advocates.
A Kenyan fired shot at the top lawyer saying, “Farmers have suffered lack of payment for maize supplied to NCPB, what they don’t know is that a lawyer (@ahmednasirlaw) who loves to pontificate, wearing a holier than thou mask is in fact the one syphoning gov’t funds meant to pay farmers. John Waluke #WalukeSentencing,”
Ahmednasir then responded saying, “Idiot, shut up, you don’t know what you are taking about. I was instructed to as lead lawyer to lead the lawyer on record in two applications before the Court of Appeal..I was successful in both..I charged fees and was paid.. I have zero apology for that.”
