Interior Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang’i has distanced himself from the NTV report that claimed he called for resignation of DP William Ruto when he appeared before the senate security committee yesterday.
In a statement Thursday afternoon 20 August, Matiang’i termed the report as false and malicious.
“The unverified report is a misrepresentation of the true record of the proceedings readily and publicly available, even to NTV, in Parliament’s Hansard records. The net effect of such fabrication can cause disharmony in the executive arm of the government,” read the statement.
The ministry further noted the matter has been referred to CS Fred’s lawyer for further action.
The media house which is owned by Nation Media Group however claims they had quoted a source who is said to have attended the interrogation session over the arrest of the three senators.
The media was barred from covering the interrogative session by Chairman of the security committee Yusuf Haji.
