Madagascar hit the spotlight back in April when they claimed to have a vaccine (COVID-Organics) for the dreaded Coronavirus. Things took a wrong turn recently after two of the government officials succumbed to the virus.
The Madagascar’s health officials are now giving a warning as hospitals in the capital city are now overwhelmed following a spike in COVID-19 cases.
The minister for health has requested for international help from aid agencies. They are requesting for Testing Kits, PPEs for health workers and ventilators.
A report from one government hospital in Antananarivo revealed they were treating 46 patients and only had space for 4 more.
The country as at July 23,2020 has 8,162 recovered cases with 80% of the cases to have been confirmed last month.
