A middle aged man in Kaewa village, Kathaini sub is said to have hit the mother of his kids with a blunt object on the head killing her instantly.
Police in the area are looking for him. According to the area chief Titus vuva, the man arrived home last night started a quarrel with his parents before proceeding to his homestead where a fight broke out with his wife before hitting her to death.
The chief added that the man has been having issues with his wife for a long time.
“The two have been having issues. In his family, there were also squabbles and he moved from home to Kaewa market. Last night he quarreled with his family before heading home,” said Vuva.
“At home, a fight ensued between him and his wife and that’s when he hit her in the head and an away,” he added.
The chief said that the man called the area assistant chief saying that he has injured his wife but when the police were called they found the woman dead.
After the brutal attack the killer husband is said to have taken his youngest son and ran away.
The man is said to have married the woman with kids so when he ran away he took the child he bore with his wife.
Police have taken the body to kathiani level four hospital morgue for presentation awaiting postmortem.
Investigations into the incident have been started and members of the public have been urged to report to the police if they have information about the man.
The incident comes just days after another man stabbed his pregnant lover to death in Mutituni, Machakos.
The man who has since been arrested by the police.
