“My flight to my motherland will land at the JKIA on January 11, 2020,” says Miguna Miguna.

Miguna Miguna is a Kenyan-born Canadian citizen, author, columnist, attorney, and political dissident. He is a barrister and solicitor in Canada, and an advocate of the High Court of Kenya. Miguna served as a senior adviser to former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga from 2009 to 2011.

Miguna has twice been deported in the past over claims he renounced his Kenyan citizenship when he became a Canadian citizen. Miguna took to twitter and said he will be flying back to his mother land on Tuesday.

The controversial lawyer took to twitter and wrote;

“My flight to my motherland will land at the JKIA on January 11, 2020. Freedom comes out of focus determination, discipline and fearlessness! FORWARD” he concluded.

Miguna was first deported in February 2018 after a dramatic arrest at his Runda home and detention in a number of police stations.

Through lawyer John Khaminwa, Miguna wants the State to comply with the orders issued by Justice Chacha Mwita on December 14, 2018.

The Application has been necessitated by the refusal by the State to comply with numerous court orders following his removal by some Government officials from Kenya,” Mr Khaminwa said.

This is not the first time the lawyer has announced returning to Kenya. In April, he announced he would be coming back but he never did.
