The Nandi County Assembly has been shut down for fumigation and mass testing of all members and staffs.
This is after Tinderet Ward MCA Hon. Kipkkurui Chepkwony tested positive for COVID-19. According to a statement by the county assembly speaker Joshua Kiptoo, the assembly which has been on break from 16th July was scheduled to resume sittings on Wednesday, 19th August.
Owing to the recent development, it has been moved to a further date which is yet to be communicated after the fumigation and mass testing exercise is complete which is set to begin Tuesday 25 August.
The MCAs have been urged to keep observing MOH guidelines to prevent further spread.
