ODM leader Raila Odinga has warned Kenyans not to test the government’s patience over measures that have been placed to curb the Coronavirus.

Speaking on a local radio station on Friday morning, the former prime minister said the stubbornness of Kenyans against following the government directives in curbing the Coronavirus pandemic will force the government to impose total lockdown.
The numbers of the infected people keep rising as Kenyans seems to have resumed the normal life.

“The public is really testing the government patience with this situation and I can assure you if we don’t change we are headed for a total lockdown, privileges and rights don’t apply during emergency situation we have to change our ways,” Odinga said.

ODM chief also rebuked the 7 mourners who tested positive for the virus after going for a burial in Siaya county after sneaking from Nairobi’s Kibera estate, Odinga urged the people to change their ways saying that the dead cannot be brought back to life by attending the burials.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe reported that 7 mourners from Kibra had taken the virus to Siaya county/courtesy)

“Our people must stop this idea of attending burials everywhere, only attend the necessary burials we can always go to pay our tribute once we are out the woods, personally my mum died while I was in prison and I had to wait for 4 years to pay my tribute” Odinga added.

Kenya yesterday reported the highest number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic in 24 hours in the country by recording 80 cases.
