Requiem Mass Held For 7 Employees After They Perished In A Road Accident

On Friday, October 23, a requiem mass was held in Eldoret for seven employees working for the same company who died in a road accident along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.

The accident occurred at Kinungi area, on Sunday, October 18, where nine workers of Mega Wholesalers based in Eldoret were leaving a training session in Nairobi but only two workers survived the incident.

A colleague to the deceased workers identified as Margret Wambugu,  Martha Muthoni, Paul Obale, Milkah Wangui, Susan Jebotibin, Caleb Temba and Kennedy Ochieng revealed to journalists that the workers were leaving a training session in Nairobi, when their Nissan vehicle was involved in an accident.

“The staff were from the Eldoret-based branch and had attended a training session in Nairobi. They left for Nakuru on Sunday morning and unfortunately their Nissan vehicle was involved in an accident,” stated the colleague.

Naivasha police boss, Samuel Waweru, confirmed that the van they were travelling in lost control and rolled several times.

Waweru further added that three died on the spot, while two were pronounced dead on arrival and the other two succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment.
