St Mark Footbridge To Be Removed For The Nairobi Expressway.

Traffic along Waiyaki Way will be disrupted and diverted as KeNHA is set to remove St Mark’s Bridge in Westlands.

The removal of the bridge is to allow the ongoing construction of Nairobi Expressway, according to the KeNHA director, Peter Mundinia in a statement.

The statement dated Saturday 26 September stated the disruption will take place between September 26 to April 1,2021.

Director Mundinia claimed Waiyaki way from Goodman Tower to Sanlam Tower will be shutdown completely.

All motors from CBD to James Gichuru will have to turn left into the service road before  joining the St Mark’s footbridge and rejoin  Waiyaki way after Mvuli Road.

Pedestrians are asked to use designated pedestrian crossing in front of Park Inn Hotel. The disruption is set of affect some sections of Mombasa Road and Uhuru Highway.

The construction of the expressway has already kicked off a sigh relief to the end of traffic jams in the city.
