The 2015 edition of the acclaimed Africa’s biggest reality TV show Big Brother Africa has been cancelled. This was due to inability of the host companies, Africa Magic and Endemol securing funds for this expensive African show that brings the entire continent together.
Ann Sackey, the manager of MultiChoice Ghana, exclusively reveled this development citing financial constraints.
According to Ann, MultiChoice Ghana received a notice from MNET suggesting that there would be no 2015 edition of the celebrated reality show.
Even though they haven’t told us the main reason for the decision, it would probably be due to luck of sponsors as the show is very expensive to put up.
She said, adding that:
They don’t have fix sponsors on the show. Every year the sponsor changes. Sometimes it’s MTN, sometime CocaCola and other companies.
She however declined to comment further on the authenticity of claims, maintaining that MNET is a separate company and they have their own targets and strategies. Hopefully, they reconsider.
