The Teachers Service Commission (TSC), has warned the public in a clarification statement concerning an advert that claimed the commission was hiring 12000 teachers.

On Tuesday, October 20, the post which was shared suggested that the government  had approved 4,000 teaching applications for primary and 8,000 applications for secondary education.

TSC in a statement, however, warned that the advert was not factually confirmed and that the official correspondence would only come from the Commission.

“We advise teachers and the general public to ignore a fake advert about 12,000 intern jobs that is circulating on social media. TSC will communicate through its official channels when new jobs arise,” stated the Commission.

The advert stated that teachers were required to work for year and were supposed to help teacher training institutions to maintain the skill sets of new trainees.

“The programme specifically targets unemployed teachers who will be assigned to learning institutions where their teaching experience will be enhanced through exposure to direct practical work experience,” stated the advert.
