Tuskys Supermarket chain store has been on the spotlight recently over debts. On Thursday 20 August, Kisumu branch was closed over unpaid rent arrears amounting to 26 million.
The troubled Tuskys which is located at United mall has been reopened barely two days after it paid 15 million 58% of its arrears and promised to pay the balance on Monday
“Kindly note that Tuskys has sent us a proof of payment for rent arrears up to the end of July. Kindly confirm receipt of the same,” Felix Apollo Owuor from Victoria Blue Auctioneer Services wrote to lawyers acting on behalf of United Mall.
He further wrote, “Please, note that we have to immediately open the supermarket since the attachment only took place for the arrears. Should there be any default for August rent, Kindly proceed to issue fresh instructions to enable us issue a fresh proclamation.”
