After Kisii boda boda riders protested on Wednesday, October 21, President Uhuru Kenyatta met them. The riders protested claiming that the President had kept them waiting for too long.
Media reports from the initial day suggested that the Head of State would meet the boda boda riders in one of his public interactions.
The hundreds of boda boda riders, claimed that they had been informed that President Kenyatta would address them, but were frustrated as they waited for hours before the President met them.
“I woke up so early that I did not take breakfast just to come and meet the president to keep up waiting for so long,” said one of the boda boda riders.
President Kenyatta met the riders alongside ODM leader Raila Odinga, and they used the opportunity to popularize the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
Uhuru praised the boda boda business contribution stating that the proposal would help the youth start sustainable businesses.
