Ever since Madagascar came forth with its treatment of Corona virus with Covid Organic tea drug, the whole world was amazed. But the World Health Organization was not ready to back the herbal drug leaving many to claim that they failed to do so cause its of African origin.

According to the tweet sent by @MoetiTshidi to the African regional official WHO Twitter handle, the World Health Organization regional director for Africa, Dr. Matshidiso Moeti announced that they are ready to work with Madagascar on condition that they allow their Covid-Organic herbal medicine to undergoe clinical test to ascertain whether it is actually safe for use in treating Coronavirus patients or not.

The tweet read:
‘We are advising the government of Madagascar to take this product through a clinical trial and we are prepared to collaborate with them. We would caution and advise countries against a product that has not been through clinical tests for safety and efficacy.’

This comes at the wake when many African countries have ordered the drug from Madagascar. The response from the World Health Organization has not shifted the president of Madagascar as they are continuing with the production of the drug and are supported with other surrounding countries.

He went on and said “The Covid Organics is not being approved just because it has been made in Africa and if it has been made in the western they would have been no complications and all these accusations of it not being safe. The African scientists are not to be underestimated.”
