Woman Arrested For Ferrying Drugs Worth Sh 500,000

70-year-old woman was arrested for trafficking drugs worth sh 500,000 by officers in Mlolongo, Machakos county.

She was nabbed on Thursday 3 September with 500 rolls of Marijuana. It is said the rolls were disguised as mtumba bales.

OCS mlolongo police station said, the woman was ferrying the marijuana to Tanzania via Machakos county.

According to Athi River sub-county police boss, the woman is alleged to be part of a network which aimed teenagers and students at home during this pandemic times

“The arrest of this suspect is a big boost to the fight against bhang peddling. We are on high alert to ensure we curb the drug abuse menace that is adversely affecting the young generation,” Said the police boss.

She will be arraigned in court today.
