A woman in Ndhiwa, Homa Bay County is believed to have killed her one-year-old son for refusing to breastfeed.
The suspect whom the police identified as Night Akoth Otieno, allegedly beheaded her son with a machete.
It is reported that she killed her third born child in the house. Police officers claimed the 23-year-old mother killed her son while her husband was away.
According to witnesses the woman was held on ground by being tied with ropes by neighbours who arrived at the scene.
She was later taken to custody the at Ndhiwa police station. According to the ass. area Chief Gabriel, he alleged the woman could have been suffering from mental disorder.
“She was angered when her third born son refused to breastfeed after making several attempts,” he told reporters.
The deceased body was taken to Manyataa Kobodo mortuary.
