Anne Wambui Kuniara’s dream of becoming a high school English and Literature teacher was dealt a blow when she sat her first KCSE exam in 1998 and scored below the minimum grade for university entry.

She was forced to drop out of school since she came from a poor background and her parents could not afford to get her through the Module Two program.

Anne did menial jobs like selling food to construction sites for 16 years to make a living and save towards her ambition. She also became a mother.

She joined Greenville Academy in Githurai 45 in March 2014, at the age of 32, to continue with her studies.

Anne sat her KCSE exams that year and scored a C plain, which was still below the university cutoff for her dream course. She enrolled for a third attempt.

She scored a C+ and got a chance at the Kenyatta University to pursue a Bachelor of Education, Arts with English and Literature in English.

Today, December 18, 2020, Anne graduates with a mean grade of 69.66, being position four in a class of over 1500 students.
