Xtian Dela on Hantavirus

Xtian Dela complained on twitter about the new various after a man died in the Yunnan province of China after testing positive to Hantavirus.

The man died while on his way back to Shandong Province for work on a chartered bus, China’s Global Times reports.

This what he posted as netizens took on him schooling him on effects of hantavirus and how it gets transmitted.

Bro, this is how #Hantavirus is also transmitted. Have you not seen videos of Chinese people eating raw rats? Handling food after handling these rats that urinate in the cages at their wet markets? They pack sushi and export after handling the same rodents. he noted

Hantavirus immediately became a trend on social media following the report with people panicking that it was another COVID-19 ready to cause a new pandemic.

However, unlike coronavirus, hantavirus is not airborne, Confirmed cases in Nigeria move to 40 as 4 are confirmed by NCDC Humans who contract the hantavirus usually come into contact with rodents that carry the virus.

“Rodent infestation in and around the home remains the primary risk for hantavirus exposure.

Although HPS can’t be passed on from person to person, it can be contracted if someone touches their eyes, nose or mouth after touching rodent droppings, urine, or nesting materials, states Centers for Disease Control and Prevention fact sheet.
