Deputy President William Ruto has now challenged the ‘deep state’ which consist of highly influential government staffs.
He cited them of crafting to ensure he does not triumph President Uhuru Kenyatta whose terms end in 2022.
Ruto linked the said crafty to warnings they received with President Kenyatta in 2013, “choices have consequences” when both were facing offences against humanity charges in the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
“I just want to tell them, we are waiting for you. This system, this deep state we are being told about,” Ruto said at his Karen office during a meeting with leaders from Kajiado County.
Looking confident of the win, he claimed, “they will come with the system but we will come with the people and God.”
It seems the DP has fallen out with President Uhuru Kenyatta and now shows an image of an outlying man in government.
This comes after the president shook hands with ODM leader Raila Odinga whose party now enjoys a close working relationship with the government.
