Among the five suspects is a primary school teacher who found himself in the hands of the government after detectives from DCI and KWS got hold of him while in possession of two elephant tusks.
The primary teacher who is identified as Nelson Nelson Wuantai Njiraini was arrested alongside the other four suspects in Kajiado county while in search of a potential customer to buy the tusks.
The DCI identified the other suspects as Francis Lakati, Samson Ntinga, Dickson Kirinkol and Emmanuel Kantent.
The arrest came 5 months after KWS had reported an elephant being killed by suspected poschers in Emotoroki Kajiado County.
The suspects are currently under police custody and arraignment will be done after completion of investigation.
