The former IEBC Commissioner Roselyn Akombe, has revealed she has left the US where she worked as the Chief of Policy, at the Policy and Mediation Division Department,United Nations in New York.
In an announcement made via her social media handle on January 4 2021, she claimed to be returning to Africa and will be staying in Ethiopia.
“Thrilled to join the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) today as the Governance and peace building Africa Coordinator at the Regional Hub in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia,” read the tweet.
She further expressed her joy on the new role as it involved her passion for development.
“After 14 years on the political side of the UN family, glad to switch to my other passion development,” she added.
Akombe is well know to have experience in the International and NGO sector. She is also an advocate for the protection of human rights, social justice, enviromental protection including of youth and women in all political and socio-economic sectors.
