Former Jubilee party gubernatorial candidate Mabel Muruli has succumbed to the Covid-19 disease. Her brother George Muruli stated that Ms Muruli died on Friday morning.

“She was at the ICU wing at Karen Hospital before being transferred to the KNH for specialized care,” Mr Muruli stated.

Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya was one of the leaders who relayed their condolences to the family over the loss.

“I’ve learnt with shock and sadness the death of Mama Mable Muruli. Kakamega has lost its hard-working, committed, courageous and humble daughter whose contribution towards the growth of our County will be missed. May God grant her family fortitude and strength to bear the loss,” Governor Oparanya stated.

Other leaders from the Western region equally condoned the family of the late politician.

“The closer it hits the more real it looks. Am saddened to mourn my sister Mrs Mabel Muruli Mark. Mukhana weruu, you were a real jewel. Fare thee well,”  tweeted former Senator Boni Khalwale.
